Celebrating a Milestone: Stonewood Tops Out its First Passivhaus Show Home

We recently reached a significant milestone at Elm Grove in Nailsea, near Bristol, as we celebrated the topping out ceremony for our new show home. This ancient Scandinavian tradition marked the completion of the first roof, symbolizing progress and achievement in our sustainable development journey.

The Stonewood Homes team along with contractors, and guests, raised a tree branch to the roof, following a tradition dating back centuries. The ceremony was a moment of reflection and gratitude for the collective efforts that have brought us to this point.

Our Managing Director, Sam Smart, expressed our pride and privilege in contributing to this project, delivering homes of exceptional sustainability and quality. With each home designed to cut heating bills significantly compared to the average UK home, our commitment to becoming an industry leader in building energy efficient homes is unwavering.

The Passivhaus standard, which all 52 homes at Elm Grove adhere to, ensures reduced carbon footprints and energy bills for residents. Features like air source heat pumps, mechanical ventilation heat recovery units, high-performing solar panels, underfloor heating, and triple glazing underscore our dedication to sustainability.

As we look forward to the completion of our four-bedroom show home by early Summer 2024, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey towards sustainable living. Register your interest to be among the first to experience the future of housing at Elm Grove.
