Topping Out Ceremony at Old Timberyard

A significant milestone for Stonewood Homes as the Old Timberyard development in Box, Wiltshire, held it’s Topping Out Ceremony. This ancient Scandinavian tradition, symbolizing the completion of the first roof, was celebrated by the Stonewood team, subcontractors, and guests.

Under the guidance of Site Manager, Chelsey Salt, the ceremony unfolded with attendees witnessing the symbolic raising of a tree branch to the roof, signifying the completion of this phase of construction.

Managing Director, Sam Smart and Contracts Manager, Blake Kendall delivered poignant speeches during the ceremony. Both making reference to the partnership with renowned musician Peter Gabriel and Real World Studios, along with RIBA award winning architects of the scheme, Stonewood Design, underscoring the collaborative spirit behind the Old Timberyard project.

Located in the picturesque village of Box, nestled within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Bath, Old Timberyard comprises twenty meticulously crafted, energy efficient homes ranging from two to four bedrooms. The development represents Stonewood’s commitment to delivering high-quality homes that blend contemporary design with natural surroundings.

“This Topping Out Ceremony is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved in bringing the vision of Old Timberyard to life,” remarked Blake Kendall, Contracts Manager. “We are immensely proud of what we have accomplished thus far and look forward to welcoming homeowners to this remarkable riverside development.”

As construction progresses, the first phase of the scheme will shortly be released for sale with the show home ready to view as we hit the height of summer.
